CONvergence’s core values commit us to creating an open, inclusive, and respectful space for our extraordinarily diverse geek community. With increased federal activity ongoing in our Twin Cities home, we reaffirm those values and express our deep concern about the fear and harm this policy has brought to members of our community.

We believe this situation is not right, and it is not acceptable. We stand firm in the belief that all people—regardless of skin color, nationality, or country of origin—deserve dignity, safety, and a place where they belong.

As our convention is still several months away, CONvergence leadership is actively monitoring federal actions in the metro area and will remain flexible, informed, and responsive as circumstances evolve.  We are in close communication with our host venue partner and have developed appropriate policies and protocols to ensure that the rights and freedoms of all guests, staff, employees, CONvergence and the Hotel are respected.

At this time, we do not believe CONvergence is a target for any enforcement actions. Nevertheless, our leadership will continue working closely with legal counsel and our hotel partners to ensure that CONvergence remains a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone who attends.
