CONVERGENCE GRANT, SPONSORSHIP AND DONATION GUIDELINES

ELIGIBILITY
Grants, sponsorships and donations are made only to organizations, events or groups which are connected to the geek/nerd community and whose primary beneficiaries are residents of Minnesota, with priority given to partners or supporters of CONvergence. Grants and donations are restricted to organizations described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; sponsorships must be for an organization, group or event with a charitable purpose as defined by the Internal Revenue Code. CONvergence does not make grants to individuals.

LIMITS & DEADLINE
The maximum amount for a request is $5,000.

Deadlines for Applications are February 1st, May 1st, August 1st and November 1st. Applications will be reviewed at the Board Meeting following the deadline.

ACTIVITIES WE GENERALLY DO NOT FUND
We discourage proposals for funding the following activities, which generally fall outside our strategic vision:

Endowments
Historical preservation, museums, and interpretive centers
Sporting events
Political, labor, fraternal, or civic organizations
Religious organizations (for sectarian purposes)
Individuals
Athletic teams or events

WAITING PERIOD AFTER A TURNDOWN
We will accept new applications one year after the date a prior application is turned down. In a few special circumstances, CONvergence will waive the one-year waiting period. In those cases, applicants will be notified of the waiver at the time their application is turned down.
