I am the eldest of six children and grew up around the Twin Cities. I am really into TV shows, books, and movies, especially Sci-Fi/Fantasy stories. This passion led me to work at a movie theater in my late teens/early twenties. Around that time, I also was active on a Star Wars Fan Board which helped me meet some awesome fellow local fans. Through this group I was introduced to CONvergence, where I truly felt at home. For the longest time there was one vacation I would take in the year and it was to go to CONvergence. When the convention moved to a four-day con, I also had more time so the next year I joined ConCom.
CONvergence experience: Served as Director of Administration from 2012 to 2018. I have also served in the following officer positions: Secretary, Vice President, and Treasurer. Prior to joining the Board of Directors, I was a Head for ConSuite and a Head for Merchandise. Since leaving the Board I have volunteered in Logistics and Finance.
Other volunteer work that I have participated in includes time spent at Feed My Starving Children, BestPrep’s eMentor Program, Anime Detour’s Hotel Department, and the Fencing Booth at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.
I have an associate degree in accounting, and I am currently working on a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. I have spent many years working in the accounting field, however for the last four years I have been working as an Application Developer/Associate Software Engineer for a financial institution.
I am still very passionate about CONvergence, and I am interested in once again contributing my skill set to this position. Even if I am not elected to this position, I still intend to continue volunteering in other departments. I truly love this organization and I will continue to help it succeed.
