Development Research team
Volunteering with Development: We need people to spend up to 6-8 hours a month researching fundraising methods and opportunities. This includes methods used by similar organizations, grant availability, corporate and community opportunities and contacts.
Social media volunteers
Volunteer with the Social Media Coordinator to monitor and interact with our network through a variety of social media. Need twitter feed tenders, facebook team, livejournal patrol, and similar related activities. This could be a full time job if you’re not careful! So we’d start with a small amount of time every week.
Email campaign team
Volunteering split between Development and Community Relations: Identify audiences and needs for targeted outreach through email about events, opportunities, and news. With guidance from our Creative Services director create email content for outreach and/or marketing to various audiences. 4-6 hours a month
Event design team
Help identify and develop new events that advance the Convergence Events mission. Make requirements and features documents that will guide how events are branded and planned. Create a method for Convergence to scope and plan for events and to accept new event proposals. Calls for a mix of brainstorming and analysis, and willingness to work in ambiguous territories with the knowledge that those may either quickly or even never become firm. 3-6 hours per month
Convergence Events administration team
Process documentation, meeting and other record keeping, calendar tracking. 5+ hours per month.
Partnership Outreach team
Volunteering with Community Relations to discover, research and contact potential partners to develop opportunities for collaboration with other organizations and causes. Relationship management work with existing partners, including information sharing and conflict resolution efforts. Keep the CE website updated with partners list and news, or coordinate with social media team to do so. Begins at 5 hours/month, scales depending on number of partner contacts.
Note: There is also a potential need to coordinate with media and press, as well as event-level communications teams. This could develop into a Press Relations staff role, if several relationships with media are established.
Volunteers
Ongoing need for event-level and year-round staff at all leadership levels to perform various duties at events and year-round planning. Potential for a position to develop volunteer outreach and recruitment coordination. Hours are role-specific, from as little as a few hours up to dozens, depending on duties and level of leadership.
